The NE566 is a voltage-controlled oscillator or frequency generator IC. It is a component used in integrated, analog electronic circuits and is often used in frequency modulation, sound reproduction, or timer applications.
The NE566 is typically available in an 8-pin DIP (Dual Inline Package) or SOIC (Small Outline Integrated Circuit) package. The integrated includes a voltage-controlled oscillator circuit internally and requires minimal connection to external components.
